Revolve 24 heads to Australia

24-hour endurance cycling challenge Revolve24 is headed to Adelaide Saturday, January 13th to Sunday, January 14th 2018, as an associated event for the Santos Tour Down Under.

The inaugural weekend-long festival will be one of the first events to take place at Australia’s newest world-class motorsport park, The Bend.

Hundreds of riders will descend onto the newly launched Bend Motorsport Park for Revolve24 to experience the 7.779km track, made up of multiple climbs and falls. Riders can choose between 24-hour, 12-hour and six-hour challenges and enter as a soloist or a team of two, four, six or eight.

The Australian event is based on the success of the UK’s Revolve24, which is now in its third year. Revolve24 takes place every September at Kent’s Brands Hatch GP track and sees hundreds of riders take to the 3.8km motor circuit.

In 2016, 13,000 riders took part in 24hr events at Le Mans, Zandvoort, Rad Am Ring, Monza as well as Brands Hatch. There were over 23,000 on-site spectators. With an increasing popularity and the inclusion of Revolve24 Australia, participation and on-site spectator numbers are forecast to grow by 20 per cent in 2017-2018.

This year, Revolve24 UK is working in conjunction with the BIKE Channel’s PRO Coach programme to offer riders a place on the pro-cycling BIKE Channel Canyon team. Following months of training with World Tour experienced coaches Rob Hayles and Brian Smith, two cyclists will go head to head at Revolve24 to win a 2018 season contract with BIKE Channel Canyon.

Revolve24 Australia founder David Fell said: “Fast, fun and safe; Revolve24 is a team endurance challenge suited to riders of any skill level. We’re excited to be partnering with the Tour Down Under to deliver another incredible cycling event to the thousands of visitors who come to Adelaide in January. This will be the first major event at The Bend and be the very first time cyclists will have the chance to experience this fabulous track.

“Circuit challenges allow riders to concentrate on their performance, supporting their team mates. Endurance cycling is growing here in Australia, as it is in many parts of the world and Revolve24 delivers a comprehensive, team-based, endurance challenge to participants.”

Revolve24 Australia is open for registering interest now. Full registration will be opening soon.
