Raleigh looks to aid IBDs in online fight with extended next-day delivery cut-off

Raleigh has extended its next-day delivery cut-off to 9pm.

The move follows a trial period back in May, and is part of the brand’s mission to offer “best in industry” services to B2B.

The extension, which will be implemented from 3rd September, is part of Raleigh’s new business strategy formed in 2017.

“With three core pillars, the strategy drives Raleigh to provide the best service, with the best brands and outstanding availability and all with a single objective in mind – to support UK IBDs in meeting the ever increasing demands of the end consumer,” said a company statement.

This later cut-off period is designed to allow stores to be more flexible and responsive, while limiting the stock they have to hold. IBDs can order products to their store or direct to a customer’s address, and Raleigh believes this can truly aid shops in competing with the convenience of online.

Raleigh UK MD Pippa Wibberley said: “It is vital that we continuously drive improvements in our service levels. The whole company is working to make these changes and we are united in our drive to give IBDs the support they need to succeed in challenging market conditions.

“We are incredibly excited that we are able to make these significant business changes to support our dealers. Add to this our ongoing drive to strengthen our brand portfolio with the products and brands that consumers are demanding and I am confident that our customers will achieve great things throughout the rest of 2018 and beyond”.

The 9pm cut-off will run from Monday to Thursday, with a 6pm cut-off on Fridays.
