Northwave creates custom jerseys for the Tour Transalp

Technical clothing specialist Northwave will sponsor and create custom jerseys for the 16th Tour Transalp amateur road stage race, which takes place from 24th June-30th June on the mountains between Italy and Austria.

Over 750 cyclists of 30 different nations will take part in the race in teams of two riders, tackling seven stages, 827km and 17.8km of elevation.

Northwave has designed the Tour Transalp’s official leaders’ jerseys, manufactured in the Custom Project atelier located in the company’s headquarter, in Onigo di Pederobba.

The jerseys – yellow for men, pink for women, orange for the ‘mixed’ category, blue for ‘masters’, green for ‘grandmasters’ and white for the U23 category – are characterised by raw-cut cuffs with dotted gripper to ensure an optimum fit. The main fabric shows microscopic pores to provide superior breathability and elasticity, whilst the reflective inserts ensure optimal visibility even in low-light conditions.

“The TOUR Transalp is a prestigious event, that collects of athletes from everywhere in Europe,” said Northwave’s communication manager Mauro Baldini. “This partnership is part of our strategy of being close to the riders – either professional or not – in major international events, and also represents a premium opportunity to display and communicate the quality we can express with our Northwave apparel, starting with the ‘made in Italy’ craftsmanship of our Custom Project atelier.”
