The new FreeFold is aiming to take advantage of the growing cycle commuter market.
The suit-folding system, created by Worldline Luggage, has already picked up a Eurobike Award. The company’s founder, Tony Higson, was inspired to create the accessory after losing six stone by cycling to and from work and experiencing first-hand the difficulties of commuting by bike with a suit.
The FreeFold is made from EVA foam, the product resembles a coat-hanger shape, with folding sections and straps to keep everything in place. RRP is £39.99.
Higson said: “When I was working in retail management I identified the gap in the market for this entirely new concept – FreeFold. I noticed that there were fundamental issues with the suit carriers that were already available – the main one being that they weren’t transferrable to a bag of my choice, and that often added to what I was already carrying, which makes it difficult to ride safely.”
UPDATE: The company has now confirmed that it will be putting in an appearance at Cycle Show (in the retail zone, stand K6).
Currently FreeFold retails to consumers direct. Retailer enquiries are welcome, however – those interested should contact Tashia Cameron at tashiacameron@sensecommunications.co.uk
