The 22nd Eurobike closed having seen 45,200 trade visitors attend from 111 countries, a rise from 43,700 from 97 countries in 2012.
A total of 1,280 exhibitors from 54 countries showed their wares. Eurobike had an ‘international participation rate’ of 56 percent.
An extra 20,400 consumers swelled the already pretty full halls on the public day, no doubt keen to see the 300 world premieres – as were the 1,883 journalists at the show.
Media coverage was perhaps stronger than ever this year with Angela Merkel making a guest appearance.
The all-important dates for Eurobike 2014 have been confirmed too: Demo Day will be held on Tuesday August 26th followed by Eurobike from Wednesday August 27th to Saturday August 30th. The Saturday will be the public day.
Messe Friedrichshafen CEO Klaus Wellmann said: “For the international bike world and for the Eurobike, the fact that Mrs. Dr. Angela Merkel came to Friedrichshafen was a strong political signal.”
Head of the Eurobike Stefan Reisinger added: “The Chancellor’s presence was noted with great pleasure by everyone involved.”
