Bikeinvention CC of South Africa has partnered with a manufacturer of technical wax products to market a new chain lube. Cycling is big in South Africa, the Cape Argus bike ride attracts 25 000 participants, but new products need to gain international distribution if they are to be commercially viable.

New South African bike-lube seeks international distributors

Bikinvention’s Squirt chain lube was released onto the South African market during the third quarter 2003, and within three months five out of the top ten mountain bikers in South Africa have started using it.

The Mazda Drifter team, which is the top mountain biking team in South Africa, now endorses Squirt, and Team Microsoft, South Africa’s top road bike team, will be using Squirt for the 2004 season.

Bikinvention is now seeking distribution internationally.
