Influential blogger creates iPhone-specific bike shop locator

Need a London bike shop? There’s now an app for that

The London Bike Shop app has been created by Andreas Kambanis of the London Cyclist blog. It costs £1.19. The app contains listings of 212 London bike shops. The listings include opening times, contact number and – for some of the shops – pictures of the storefront or interior. Kambanis said he’d like more bike shops to supply pix of their stores.

Like the free Bike Hub app (which has details of 2500+ UK bike stores), the London Bike Shop locates bike shops by proximity to the iPhone user.

The app also lists mobile bike repair services.

Kambanis said: "Going forward the London Bike Shop app will rely on users to report any errors in the listings and also suggest new shops. This crowd-sourcing, combined with updates from developers, should help make this one of the best and most complete sources of information on London’s bike shops."

With a different app developer, Kambranis was also responsible for the Bike Doctor iPhone app which has details of 20 bicycle repairs.
