Cycling Sports Group expands scooter range internationally

Mongoose ramps up scooter line

Bike brand Mongoose has ramped up its scooter offering with the launch of Mongoose-branded recreational and freestyle scooters. Mongoose is part of the Dorel Industries portfolio of bike brands in its Cycling Sports Group, and the new scooter line was unveiled at the Dorel Sports International Distributor event held in Amsterdam earlier this month.

Mongoose scooters were first rolled out in 2016, followed by the launch of a folding and freestyle line in the US in 2017. The new line extends distribution internationally.

Jeff Weiss, senior vice president of international sales for Cycling Sports Group said:

“As one of the founding bike companies that helped fan the flames of BMX with its innovative Motomag wheel, Mongoose is no stranger to the action sports world. We’ll now stoke the fire of future generations, this time in the scooter world.”

Mongoose’s VP of product development Dave Duecker added: “Mongoose played a big role in fuelling the scooter category back in 1985 with the advent of its Mongoose Miniscoot. We’re jumping in again with a complete line of fresh recreational and stunt scooters that will be available in the international market.”

Mongoose also plans to play a larger role in supporting athletes in the scooter category.

The Mongoose international scooter line will be available in-store in Autumn 2018.
