Maxxis to be latest super-brand to sponsor Steve Peat Syndicate

Ahead of this weekend’s first round of the British Downhill Series at Ae Forest in Scotland, the high-adrenaline Steve Peat Syndicate (SPS) has announced that Maxxis Tyres UK is set to act as their next sponsor.

A new concept for gravity mountain bike racers, the syndicate is headed up by world-renowned downhill legend Steve Peat. The SPS is a buy-in programme that offers riders the opportunity to use and own a specialist Santa Cruz bike and branded kit, and to be part of the worldwide team. Participants receive expert training, mentoring, and support from the man himself.

Maxxis’ long-standing relationship with Steve Peat dates back to 2002; having been a key supporter throughout his riding career to date, sponsoring the SPS was a natural progression for the company.

The sponsorship deal with Maxxis will secure the tyre giant’s brand visibility at the British Downhill Series and the UK Enduro Series, among other key events. Additionally, a variety of Maxxis products – including Shorty, High Rollers II, and Minion tyres – will be supplied to SPS riders to bolster their performances.

Commenting on the sponsorship and what it means for the syndicate and its riders, Peat commented: “I am very happy to be able to bring my SPS development team together with Maxxis Tyres. I have been working with Maxxis for 14 years now, and it’s great to get the same support for my guys. I’m looking forward to an awesome year at the races, and would like to thank everyone at Maxxis UK for the support.”
