Maxxis has introduced Maxx Seal, its first bicycle tyre sealant, developed for use with Maxxis Tubeless Ready tyres and aimed at road, gravel, urban and mountain bike riders.
The new sealant uses a synthetic latex formula designed to form a continuous coating inside the tyre casing, helping provide long-term puncture protection while remaining active between refills. According to Maxxis, the formula has been tested in temperatures ranging from -20°C to +55°C and can seal tyre damage up to 7mm.
Maxx Seal is ammonia-free and skin-safe, and has been engineered not to form clumps. The brand says it is safe for both tyre casing and rim materials, while also being compatible with CO2 inflation and tyre inserts, making it suitable for modern tubeless setups in both retail and workshop environments.
The sealant will be available from local bike shops from early August 2026, with four pack sizes offered: 250ml, 500ml, one litre and a five-litre workshop canister.
