Result of a public referendum on the introduction UK's largest congestion charge in Greater Manchester

Manchester C-charge results return unanimous ‘No’

Votes from a public referendum on the introduction of a proposed congestion charge in Greater Manchester have returned a unimous ‘no’ from all ten of the city’s councils.

Approximately 1.94 million people were able to have their say on whether to accept a peak-time charge as part of a £2.8bn package of investment in public transport.

If put in place, the charging zone would have been the biggest in the UK.
