EUROBIKE 2011: Taiwan-based suspension expert Ryan Carroll is now on the Madison payroll.

Madison’s new engineer is wheeled out at Eurobike

The Saracen bike range unveiled at Eurobike has Ryan Carroll’s name plastered all over rear stays.

He doesn’t yet have a Madison business card but his job title is something like head of design (he says the exact title will be fixed in stone soon).

Carroll is working alongside fellow industry veteran Simon Wild, Saracen’s bike designer. (In the pic above, Carroll is on the left).

Carroll was formerly a freelance engineer working mostly for George Lin’s Pacific Cycles of Taiwan. He created the current IF Mode series of folding bikes for the long-established bike manufacturer, working alongside Strida-designer Mark Sanders.

Madison brought Saracen and Genesis bikes to Eurobike. Carroll worked on the suspension platforms for both marques.

When Saracen was owned by Paul and Rick Stanforth the company once had a small presence at Eurobike but Madison said this was the brand’s biggest Eurobike presence to date.
