Distributor to keep the cricketer stocked up on 300 mile ride

Madison and Sportline back Darren Gough

England cricket star Darren Gough is riding 300 miles over four days to raise cash for Lord’s Taverners, a leading youth cricket and disability sports charity dedicated to giving disadvantaged and disabled young people a sporting chance.

Madison and Sportline have pledged to keep the cricket legend supported during his charity cycling exploits, with a new carbon Genesis Team Zero bike and fuelled by Science in Sport, nuun hydration and Mule Bar. Madison has also equipped Gough with a Lazer Z1 helmet and Shimano R321 shoes and the latest kit from Madison Clothing.

Darren Gough’s statement on his charity ride provides all the details:

“You may have heard I’ll be making my Ashes return this summer, not on the cricket pitch, but on a bicycle! On July 12th I’ll be embarking on a 300 mile cycle over four days to raise money for the Lord’s Taverners.

The Investec Ashes 2015 Cycle Challenge looks to mark the anniversary of the infamous 2005 Ashes victory in which England won the series 2-1 and reclaimed the Ashes for the first time since 1987. The challenge starts at the Emirates Old Trafford and finishes at the Kia Oval via Trent Bridge, Edgbaston and Lord’s.

Me along with 100 other cyclists are aiming to raise over £150,000 for the Lord’s Taverners to provide specially adapted minibuses to schools catering for children with physical and learning disabilities. These buses enable schools to engage their pupils in sporting and recreational activities and help them develop vital life skills that you and I may take for granted.
