Lusso recently revealed that its relationship with distributor Raleigh will end as of December.
The brand, who will now operate direct to dealers in the UK, told BikeBiz the reason for the split, which it says was amicable.
“Raleigh were looking at going in a slightly different direction that we wanted to go,” commented founder John Harrison. “We decided to part ways; we had a few years with them and they helped in the marketing side where we seemed to be a bit weak, but overall it was a positive experience for Lusso and we learnt a lot.
“We have got a few more people on board at Lusso now for marketing and social media, so we want to really push our technical garments for both UK and overseas as we felt sometimes we have been held back and we didn’t want to be so price conscious.
“With our brand made here in the UK and getting such great reviews in the cycling press we want to capitalise on this and focus more with a distributor or sales agents who haven’t got quite as many lines as Raleigh to push who will focus more on selling our-long established quality technical range.”
