The magic £1 million pounds the industry had to raise for Sustrans has now been raised. The BA got a letter of thanks from John Grimshaw of Sustrans this morning

Levy target reached

Some suppliers absorbed the 0.025 percent, others passed it on to IBDs (a tiny minority of whom scrubbed the amount off their invoices!) but the effort has all been worthwhile, the industry pot has now reached £1 million.

Industry support to the tune of £1 million was a pre-requisite for Sustrans to get the £42.5 million from the lottery fund.

The levy will continue for another £200 000 to fund parts of Ride the Net. After that, it’s unknown whether there will be enough BA support to keep the levy going.
