Lee Bagnall joins the OIA board

Lee Bagnall, CEO of JD Sports Outdoor Division and managing director at Blacks Outdoor Retail Group, has become the latest member to join the Outdoor Industries Association board.

Lee joined JD Sports in 2014 as MD of the Millets Outdoor Business, which is now an integral part of the group. He started his life in retail with the family furniture business, before working for Wickes & B&Q, and became Retail Director for the Bensons for Beds chain before making the leap into outdoors in 2006 as COO at GO Outdoors. Lee is a keen skier and loves the outdoors.

On joining the OIA board, Lee commented, “I feel very honoured and privileged to be joining the board, and I’m keen to be part of the team that is supporting government initiatives and the new sports strategy to promote participation in outdoor recreation.”

OIA Chief Executive Andrew Denton said: “We are all delighted to welcome Lee to the OIA board – following Hans Falkenberg’s retirement, he makes a great addition to our retail team. As we continue influencing government to develop and support outdoor recreation, we need an extensive, experienced board of directors to maximise the trade’s impact."
