Cycling Scotland-organised bike ride expected to see over 9k cyclists take part

Last call for Pedal for Scotland entries

Record numbers of Scots are expected to take part in next week’s freshnio Pedal for Scotland event.

Over 9,000 cyclists are expected to atteneding, topping last year’s total by over 1,500 cyclists.

The organisers are urging those wanting to take part to make their entry now for the Sunday September 12th event. New ride options will be available to participants at this year’s event, which will also see Scottish long-distance cyclist Mark Beaumont take part.

"Freshnlo Pedal for Scotland was established in 1998 to promote cycling as a healthy lifestyle choice," explained Cycling Scotland event organiser Andrew Pankhurst.

"Now in its twelfth year, we are delighted to see yet another increase in the number of people signing up for the biggest bike ride in Scotland.”
