Kiddimoto announces Ikon helmet

Kiddimoto has announced the launch of the Ikon helmet, the first lightweight, full-face helmet of its kind, made especially for children between the ages of two and 12.

The helmet is made from high-grade EPS with an immoulded polycarbonate shell, and has a detachable chin guard with a patented locking mechanism that features one-click release.

Kiddimoto founder Simon Booth said: "The Ikon helmet gives an insight into all the kid-centric thinking we put into every new product we bring to market.

"It gives just a taste of the level of thought and detail that’s gone into our exciting Ikon children’s pedal bike which is coming out next year.

"The reaction we’ve had to the helmet from kids at the Bike Show has been amazing, we got a real buzz out of seeing them make a beeline to try it on and we’ve taken a lot of pre-orders.

"Loads of people have told us they’ve been looking for a helmet like this, but until now, the only option was to buy a small full-face adult helmet which is much heavier."

The Ikon has 12 vents aerodynamically integrated into the design and an integrated visor that helps keeps sun and water out of the eyes.

Available in small and medium, the helmet also features adjustable padding.

The first stock will be available in the UK from the 5th November.
