Title: Shop Manager
Job Location: Blackburn House, Ropery Lane, Chester-le-Street
Salary: £12.81/hour, 35 hours/week (part time working requests considered). Holiday entitlement 33 days including bank holidays.

Job Description:
- Line manage the staff at Chester- le- Street in line with the Staff Review and Performance Policy of RyB to encourage staff development and job satisfaction.
- Encourage the recruitment of a wide range of volunteers and provide opportunities for training and personal development.
- Develop close and active links with the local community to promote cycling and to identify people likely to benefit from the charity.
- Manage and deliver a series of regular training sessions to the public.
- Maintain regular contact and communication with the General Manager and staff at the Brinkburn Street site.
- Refurbish, service and repair bicycles to a high standard, regularly liaising with the Operations Manager to ensure consistency across both sites and that production meets the needs of the organisation in terms of both quantity and quality.
- Ensure cash and stock management procedures are followed using Premier ePos and cash is banked regularly.
- Keep records of the number of bikes produced/serviced/repaired each month.
- Take overall responsibility for workshop Health & Safety, complying and continuously keeping abreast of requirements in relation to relevant Health and Safety legislation and guidelines, ensuring facilities are maintained to a high standard.
- Work with the General Manager on a range of relevant initiatives and tasks such as developing a marketing strategy for Chester-le-Street.
- Make a significant contribution to the broader development of RyB by sharing expertise and knowledge and engaging in relevant training activities.
- Such other responsibilities (including security of the premises) which are appropriate to the grade of the post.
Essential experience, skills and knowledge include:
- Experience of working in a bike shop or workshop (minimum 2 years)
- Analytical thinking and problem solving skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Highly organised with attention to detail
- Self- motivated with pride in your work
