It's called the North American Handmade Bicycle Show and will take over part of the Sheraton Houston Brookhollow in Texas, 15-16th January. The show - open to tube makers and bike builders from around the world - was conceived online.

Indie bike builders to stage own show

US, Australian and European custom bicycle builders chew the fat at frameforum.net, a UK-based bulletin board with 550 registered members.

It was on here that US frame builder Don Walker of Don Walker Cycles, Texas, started to drum up support for an independent show for independent bike builders.

"I will have a website up with all the info within a week or so," said Walker.

"Maps of the area, restaurants, attractions, shuttle service and more will all be covered. I hope [this will be] the best independent show in North America. Let’s get the recognition we deserve!"
