Job Purpose

As a member of Silverfish’s Sales’ team, we want you to drive commercial advantage and build our bike brands. Utilising Silverfish’s combination of knowledge, experience and reputation in the market, your role will be to enable brands and retailers to:

  • Drive revenue.
  • Grow consumer insistence.
  • Launch products through effective Go 2 Market Strategies.
  • Define market position.
  • Stand out from competitors.

Duties and Responsibilities

Our aim is clear, we want to hire or build up the best and for you to be empowered to grow your territory as best you can. 

  • Geographical focus: manage sales in the North England territory.
  • Passion for MTBs: exhibit a deep passion for mountain biking to connect with customers and understand their needs.
  • Customer engagement: ride alongside customers (all end users) to provide an immersive experience and foster strong relationships. 
  • Develop a sell in/out strategy to exceed the yearly forecast – be responsible for building and executing the strategy in alignment with the sales and marketing manager.
  • Create best in class brand experiences at retail (online/offline) and other relevant consumer touchpoints. Get creative in presenting how this looks and feels to drive maximum consumer awareness and insistence.
  • Leverage all success across the UK sales team – influence, support, and coach the UK sales team with all key learnings and experiences.
  • Market insight: keep the sales manager informed about market demands, stock situations, and pricing dynamics for effective decision-making.
  • Work within the cycling networks relevant to our brands to influence and learn trends, product needs and use this to influence Silverfish marketing.
  • Build a direct relationship with Yeti Cycles and NORCO – build trust and show authenticity and industry knowledge by setting the highest standards of brand ownership in the UK and Europe for Silverfish. 
  • Define an active target list of the best bike retailers in the territory – support a plan to become the #1 MTB brand in the UK as recognised by industry awards and general recognition from key bike influencers and peers.
  • Demo bike fleet management: oversee and maintain a small fleet of demo bikes to showcase our products to potential customers.
  • Demo sessions and team rides; conduct essential demos and participate in team rides to enhance brand visibility and customer engagement.
  • Brand representation; represent our brand comprehensively, embodying its values and promoting our range of products.
  • Partner Northern P&A Sales Manager at biggest accounts to grow both bike and P&A sales.
  • Travel commitment: Embrace the opportunity for travel and time away from home as an integral aspect of the role.

Skills and Experience/Qualifications

  • A minimum of 3 years of sales experience ideally within the cycling industry or must be able to demonstrate significant bike knowledge.
  • Extensive experience in all aspects of customer relationship management. 
  • Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements. 
  • Desire to be ‘in the market’ with an expectation of high frequency for travel.
  • Proven ability to exceed sales quotas. 
  • Be able to demonstrate the ability to grow accounts using a strategic and planned process.
  • Demonstrate exceptional negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrate the art of brand and product elevation at retail / events.
