Muc-Off has added sixteen staff in the past year because, said MD Alex Trimnell, his £10m company has been "experiencing amazing growth" and was forecasting "phenomenal growth" in the months ahead. The company makes bike and personal care products, having started in 1994 by putting its risque name on bottles of its now signature pink cleaning fluid.
Trimnell said his Poole-based company plans to unveil more than thirty new products over the next twelve months and "supporting this increased product range is a new team of marketing, finance and sales executives."
The hires include Andy Moore, Muc-Off’s new finance and operations director, who said:
“After meeting Alex for the first time, I was bowled over by his energy and passion for the business, in particular his dedication to product development and customer excellence. Also after many years in traditional corporate roles, I wanted to be part of something really exciting and undergoing rapid growth."
Since 2012 Muc-Off has seen year-on-year sales increases, with growth this year of more than 20 percent.
Muc-Off was originally a spin-off from X-lite, a manufacturer of high-end MTB accessories such as the Chicken Stix brake levers. established in 1991 by the late Rex Trimnell, Alex’s father. Trimnell Snr made a name for himself designing lightweight but tough components, including seatposts and CNC-machined MTB components. His meaty suspension forks and prototype full-suspension MTB frame – marketed for a time by Raleigh – were both ahead of their time.
