Hunt releases BIKE Channel Canyon Pro wheels

Hunt releases wheels specifically made for BIKE Channel Canyon Pro Team’s needs.

Hunt recently revealed that the BIKE Channel Canyon professional race team approached the company to supply wheels for its tough UCI Continental race campaign against some of the highest-level pro teams and races.

The team is already training and racing on Hunt tubeless-ready clincher wheelsets, but for the biggest races in the calendar, tubular rims were needed as they provide the ability for the riders to keep rolling whilst waiting for their service car in the event of a puncture.

With the desire to create some fast wheels, the brand concluded that providing a strong and seriously wide and lightweight carbon rim with an aero-rounded profile was the only feasible option.

The resulting rim dimension is wide at 25mm which creates a strong tubular tyre profile, giving superior grip and lower rolling resistance. Hunt also chose to include Basalt Ceramic Fibre brake-tracks, which when combined with its Griptec pads by Brakco, offer increased braking on long descents.

The freehub body on the Hunt Sprint hubs was also a key consideration. Upgrading to a 48 tooth ratchet ring and multi-point pawls provide a fast 7.5-degree engagement for when the rider needs to accelerate.
