CILT distributes Think Cycling! to every local transport and planning authority in the country

‘How to’ guide to cycle investment launched for councils

Think Cycling! is a new guide produced by CILT (The Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport in the UK) aimed at introducing local authority officials and elected members to cycle investment.

The short ‘how to’ guide demonstrates how to make an effective, low-cost investment in cycling.

A complimentary digital copy of Think Cycling! is being sent by CILT to every local transport and planning authority.

“We want to encourage local transport and planning authorities to introduce cost-effective and practical cycling measures, based on what works well elsewhere,” enthused principal author and CILT Cycling Forum member David Hurdle.

CILT’s president Peter Hendy CBE called – during his recent CILT Cycling Lecture – for a new 25-year vision to make cycling the preferred way many more people choose to make local journeys.

Think Cycling! is backed up by CILT’s on-line resource for cycling professionals, based on Cycling England’s library, and located at The Hub: www.ciltuk.org.uk/pages/cycling. The Hub and Think Cycling! are free to anyone trying to encourage more people to cycle.

The Cycling Forum is part of the Active Travel & Travel Planning Professional Sector of CILT.
