Hounslow Cycling Campaign has welcomed new plans for the Cycle Superhighway 9 (CS9) cycle route, and has said it is pleased that TfL has ‘listened to local responses’.
It added: “We hope that TfL and the London Boroughs of Hounslow, and Hammersmith and Fulham will proceed with these plans as soon as possible and bring forward plans for extension of the route between Brentford and Hounslow town centres and beyond.
“We look forward to local people of all ages being able to benefit from healthier streets once this long overdue project is completed.
“We are pleased that the plans address points we raised in the original CS9 consultation, including updating designs to use more road space instead of pavement space and providing fully protected cycle track at Kew Bridge.”
The changes will help link the town centres of Chiswick and Brentford and rebalance the high streets away from motor vehicle traffic in favour of people walking and cycling.
Plans for the CS9 were originally consulted in September 2017.
