The consumer bike show run by Haymarket, but formerly owned by Future Publishing, will not be staged next April.

Haymarket folds The Bike Show

Sales manager Ben Gosset has told would-be exhibitors the show is off and that all deposits will be refunded.

The show was moved from the NEC to agricultural expo showground Stoneleigh Park last year. Visitor numbers dropped. However, BikeBiz.com understands the show made money and the demo part of the show was popular with visitors and exhibitors.

An industry insider said: "It will be interesting to see what Future does now given their strength in the bike sector and given the need for an events based show."
