Greenover Sports has announced that Jon Oakes has joined the team in the role of sales manager for the North of the UK.
John Oakes has spent over 30 years working in a variety of roles at both retail and distributor level in the bike trade, most recently as a sales rep for companies such as Pearl Izumi, Jim Walker, Fisher Outdoor and most recently ZyroFisher.
Oakes joins the growing Greenover sales team to manage the North of the UK with his counterpart Neil Gordon managing the South.
“We’re excited to have someone with John’s experience join the Greenover family as we continue to expand the Greenover bike division,” said director of bikes Martin Murray. “John is really well respected in the trade and I have no doubt he’ll be a big asset to our business.”
Oakes added: “It was an easy decision to come out of my very short retirement to join my old colleagues Martin and Neil at Greenover. Greenover’s approach to distribution is a breath of fresh air and I am really excited about using my experience to help them build the brands within the bike division, which is what I have always enjoyed doing.”
