Green Oil UK is to be featured in a BBC news feature this week on businesses started during the recession.
The feature, to be broadcast this Thursday (August 12th) and expected to be seen by around five million viewers, was filmed at Green Oil’s Eco-Cabin in Kent where the firm first started – rather than at Green Oil’s factory in Wales – the location where it producing a single biodegradeable chain lube.
BBC Breakfast’s Tim Muffet handles the report, which focuses on entrepreneurs who could see that the ‘job for life’ after eductaion was not guaranteed, making starting a company more tempting.
Green Oil started up at the start of the recession in the same year Lehman Brothers collapsed. The firm has bucked the economic downturn and has now been picked up by Upgrade.
“To be featured on the BBC is a fantastic opportunity for Green Oil UK," commented Green Oil UK director Simon Nash. "The BBC feature will benefit current stockists and attract interest from new retailers willing to invest in the Green Oil range.”
The footage will be shown on Thursday August 12th on BBC Breakfast news between 6 and 9am, shown three times throughout the show.
Filming on the day featured old production techniques and the range on display at Bromley Bike Co, a local Green Oil stockist.
Green Oil is a Finalist in the ‘Rising Star‘ category of the BikeBiz Awards 2010.
