Golden Jerusalem turns pink to highlight May’s arrival of Giro d’Italia

Landmarks in Israel are turning pink to welcome the arrival of the 101st Giro d’Italia in 101 days’ time. The stage race starts in Jerusalem on 4th May.

Host cities in Israel – and Italy – are celebrating their link with the "Corsa Rosa" by bathing important squares, monuments, bridges and fountains in pink.

In Jerusalem the Bridge of Strings and the Town Hall have turned pink, as have Haifa’s Town Hall and the city’s football stadium. In Be’er Sheva, the Town Hall, the Fountain at the entrance of the city, the Negev Museum and the amphitheatre have been so illuminated, and in Eilat a long stretch of the High Road has been turned pink.
