Seatylock funds folding seat lock on Kickstarter

Security brand Seatylock has taken to Kickstarter for its next big project.

The brand has announced the funding campaign for a new product, the Seatylock Gel, which combines a gell-padded saddle with a hidden bicycle lock.

The locking unit folds into the underside of the seat, which is then secured to a specially adapted seatpost. When removed and extended, the lock fold out into a metre-long fastener. The idea was designed to prevent the need for inconvenient locking devices on the go, and to ensure that a bike can be secured wherever it is taken.

Currently the brand, which recently previewed the product at the Bike Place Show in Silverstone, has raised nearly $7000 of its $10,000 target from 90 backers with 30 days to go.

Benefits to supporting the campaign include a seat-only reward, an early-bird unit and retailer packs.
