Get a free check-up from the Bike Doctor

Portsmouth City Council is now offering Bike Doctor clinics, with free check-ups and basic repairs to your cycle.

At the Bike Doctor sessions a team of experienced bike mechanics will check everything on bikes from wheels to gears, and brakes to lights. Any minor adjustments or basic repairs can be made there and then. If they can’t fix it immediately, they will let the owner know exactly what needs doing and a rough cost.

The Bike Doctor clinics take place at the following locations and there is no need to book:
• Every Wednesday 10am – 3pm in Commercial Road, Portsmouth by the fountain (from today)
• Every Monday 10am – 3pm in Cosham High Street (starting 25 July)

Councillor Jim Fleming, Cabinet Member of Traffic & Transportation, said: "We are passionate about getting more people cycling in Portsmouth and offering a free checks and basic repairs is a great way of encouraging people to get back on their bikes.

"Our British Cycling programme of free guided rides runs throughout the summer so get out your bike, have it checked by the Bike Doctor and sign up for a free ride at www.goskyride.com/portsmouth"
