Eurobike launches ‘Bike Biz Revolution’ conference

The Eurobike trade show has announced that on 3rd September the first ever ‘Bike Biz Revolution – Conference for Visionaries’ will take place.

The event will be discussing digitalisation and the bicycle industry in a diverse range of formats. Messe Friedrichshafen is calling for participation in the content-related development of the conference.

“The day before the show is always a very intensive and productive time,” said project manager Dirk Heidrich. “In addition to final setup arrangements and organisational tasks, it’s a day for the media and company meetings. And this year, we’re launching a new high-calibre opportunity to collect and exchange ideas: The ‘Bike Biz Revolution – Conference for Visionaries’.

“Digitally networked bikes are becoming more and more important for the mobility of the future. The digital era requires maximum agility and this is why we are introducing a new conference format.”

The event will consist of seven 30-minute slots with presentations and open discussions. This will include digitalisation topics such as big data, connectivity, future mobility, sharing instead of owning and more.

In addition, the agenda will not just be drawn up by the Eurobike organisers. The ‘Call for Participation’ invites industry decision makers and also lateral thinkers and mavericks to get involved in developing content for the event, with Rose Bikes and the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich leading the way. With the presentation ‘Rose Bikes: This is what digital innovation leadership looks like’, the Bocholt-based bike manufacturer is using the new conference platform to present its strategy. Innovative mobility is the focus of Dr Thomas Sauter-Servaes’s talk ‘Less artificial, more intelligent – how the spotifyication of transport still make us happy.’

Suggestions for further presentations should be submitted to Eurobike project coordinator Johannes Schürle.

After the media events, Eurobike industry talk and press tour in the morning, and the subsequent conference première in the afternoon, the Networking Dinner will round off the evening before the start of Eurobike. The evening before the show will open with the Edison Talk on sustainable mobility moderated by Franz W. Rother, editor-in-chief of the magazine for new mobility and smart living. The podium discussion will also include Stephan Rammler, professor for transportation design and social sciences at the Braunschweig University of Art (HBK), Carsten Camrath, head of micro-mobility, Volkswagen AG, Burkhard Stork, director German Cyclists’ Association ADFC and Winfried Hermann, transport minister Baden-Württemberg.

Eurobike 2019 will open to trade visitors for three business days, 4th to 6th September, followed by Festival Day on 7th September.
