In a highly competitive and crowded market, Enigma Titanium Ltd, the UK-based premium bike manufacturer, has reported a “notable increase” in sales for 2023, defying the prevailing industry trend.
Specifically, the company has experienced a 40% year-on-year surge in the sales of its domestically produced ‘Signature’ titanium and steel frames, each meticulously handcrafted from start to finish in Hailsham, East Sussex.
Jim Walker, managing director of Enigma and a seasoned professional in the trade, expressed his satisfaction with the positive sales trajectory of the company’s UK-manufactured frames.
Reflecting on the journey, Walker said: “The early years presented a steep and costly learning curve, but the wealth of experience gained over the last two decades has positioned us exceptionally well. Our unwavering commitment to ‘made in England’ sets Enigma apart from most competitors.
“Our in-house produced frames not only deliver an exceptional riding experience but also boast world-class materials, construction, and finish. Customers increasingly appreciate the ‘UK made’ aspect of our offerings. In today’s environmentally conscious world, sustainability plays a pivotal role in purchasing decisions across various sectors.
“Enigma provides a stunning product with genuine green credentials, handcrafted in the most sustainable manner right here in the UK. We are passionate about our work, and witnessing substantial growth in our ‘Signature’ programme, especially in challenging market conditions, is truly encouraging. We remain steadfast, robust, and committed to ongoing investments in the UK manufacturing arm of our business.”

History of the brand
Enigma was founded in 2006 as a titanium only brand.
The plan at the outset was to import frames from the Far East in order to achieve a base for the business and from there to kick on and learn how to build frames in-house.
Enigma’s own frame building adventure started in 2008 and today, the brand is in a good place.
The company has amassed a wealth of knowledge and experience over the years and now produces a number of high quality frames.
Each process is carried out in Enigma’s Hailsham, Sussex facility giving it total control from start to finish.
