Electric specialist teams with the Environmental Transport Association to offer cyclists cover

Dundee e-bike dealer forms breakdown recovery service

A Dundee based electric bike specialist has teamed up with the Environmental Transport Association to offer cyclists a ‘breakdown cover’ service.

The service, provided by the Environmental Transport Association, gives e-cyclists breakdown cover similar to that offered to motorists.

In the event of a breakdown, policy holders contact the dedicated ETA recovery call centre and a recovery van will take the rider and electric bike to the nearest bicycle repair shop, railway station, car rental agency, overnight accommodation or home within 25 miles.

E-cyclists can use this service after an accident, theft, vandalism or irreparable breakdown of their e-Bike.

The new Electric Cycle Rescue Cover has also been included with every Wisper e-bike sold at Electric Bikes Scotland.

‘The specialist Cycle Rescue cover we formulated with Electric Bikes Scotland is designed to give total peace of mind and ultimately contribute to taking even more Scots out of their cars onto more healthy and sustainable modes of transport.’ explains Kellie Oakley from the ETA.

‘As an ethical organisation with the aim of raising awareness of the impact of excessive car use and to encourage positive changes to travel habits, cycling features high on our list of priorities.’
