Amsterdam-based Digitale Samenwerking Tweewielerbranche (DST) has appointed Harmen van Es as its interim platform manager.
In sharing the news DST points out that Harmen is a recognized expert in digital collaboration and data integration within the industry.
In addition to his current role as IT Project Leader at Dynamo Retail Group (DRG), which he will continue to fulfil, van Es will take on the position of interim platform manager at DST on a part-time basis.
With a wealth of experience, and a background as a project leader, van Es “has a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities faced by brands, wholesalers, and retailers in the digitalization of the bicycle industry”.
Over the years, van Es has also developed extensive knowledge of the DST platform, which now includes more than two million products and over sixty brands and companies. This product data covers more than 80% of the inventory in POS systems.
Harmen van Es notes: “With the introduction of DST Platform 3.0, we’ve entered a new era where high-quality product data is readily available for retailers. I see more and more stakeholders in the supply chain recognizing the importance of the DST platform as an essential link in digital communication between suppliers and retailers.
I look forward to working with all parties involved to further strengthen this collaboration and guide the platform’s international growth.”
The news sees van Es succeed Gijs Hoff, who has stepped down from his position to fully focus on other activities within his company.
Here, Remco Tekstra, chairman of the DST board, comments: “We are deeply grateful to Gijs Hoff for his extensive contributions to bringing the DST platform and the DST product standard to where they are today. His efforts have laid a vital foundation for the future.
“At the same time, we are delighted that Harmen van Es, with his expertise and experience, is now taking over. Harmen is an expert in digital collaboration, and we are confident that he is a worthy successor to Gijs. With Harmen as interim platform manager, DST has the opportunity to search for a permanent solution in the coming period.”
