Deeper smart lock takes to Kickstarter

The smart lock system Deeper Lock has launched on Kickstarter, and has currently raised $35,000 of its $79,700 goal through 181 backers.

The security system is operated from the user’s smartphone and features GPS tracking, unlimited range anti-theft alerts via GSM and a 110dB alarm. A hardened steel locking element secures the bike upon activation, whilst twin solar panels ensure power by self-charging. The device is locked and unlocked using the app through an encrypted Bluetooth connection.

Deeper CTO Donatas Malinauskas commented: “Deeper Lock is much more than a lock – it’s a complete security system. If has smart features designed to counter whatever the bike thieves try. And its amazing usability will bring a whole new experience for city cyclists. No more clunky keys or dirty hands, just quick, sharable bike security.”

With a prototype showcased at this year’s CES, Deeper Lock is reportedly ready for production. The Kickstarter campaign can be viewed here.
