Damien Hirst paints Dutch bike for art auction

The ICA is hosting a fundraising party on the evening of 29th March. As part of the Psychedelica party there will be an auction of 30 original works, including 13 bikes.

The works were created by established and emerging artists including Damien Hirst, Ai Weiwei, and Jake and Dinos Chapman. The auction lots are available for preview from tomorrow until 27th March in the Upper Galleries at the Institute of Contemporary Arts in London.

London bike shop Velorution donated bicycle items for the contemporary artists who customised each piece.

Damien Hirst’s ‘Hollander’ (pictured above) is expected to fetch £20,000+.

Learner bike company Early Rider donated one of their bikes and this was painted by Matt Collishaw. ‘Rosebud’ could fetch £6000+.
