Cyclingworld Europe has announced it will expand its opening Friday into a full exhibition day from 2027, as organisers respond to strong demand from exhibitors, retailers and the wider cycling industry.
The Düsseldorf-based show will open at 12 noon on Friday, March 12, 2027, and run until 8pm, offering a full programme including test rides. Previously, the Friday element had been limited to an evening opening for the public.
Organisers said the move is designed to spread visitor numbers more evenly across the event and create more time for manufacturers, retailers and consumers to meet.
The show has ruled out adding a dedicated trade-only day on the Thursday, instead choosing to retain its identity as a consumer-focused event while giving the trade a more prominent role within the existing format.
Show director Stefan Maly said: “Cyclingworld has always been, first and foremost, a B2C show, and that is exactly what it will remain. That is our core identity, and we have no intention of diluting it.”
Maly added that organisers are working to provide trade visitors with “a high-quality experience integrated into the event rather than through a separate trade-only day”.
The revised format will also affect exhibitor build-up, with brands given two full set-up days on Wednesday and Thursday for the first time.
Demand for space remains high, with Cyclingworld Europe 2027 already around 97% sold out. Requests from existing exhibitors to increase stand space will only be accommodated in exceptional cases, with remaining space being reserved for new exhibitors.
Joey Stoczek, who joined the show’s management team in 2025, said: “Having fewer exhibitors on the same — or even a larger — floor space is not what we want.”
Cyclingworld is also preparing to launch a new exhibitor portal, bringing organisational processes and orders into one central platform.
Cyclingworld Europe 2027 will take place from March 12 to 14 at Areal Böhler in Düsseldorf.
