Cervelo-owner bags Faraday e-bike brand

Pon Holdings of the Netherlands has acquired Faraday Bicycles of the US for an undisclosed fee. Pon owns Cervélo, Gazelle, Focus and Santa Cruz.

Faraday of San Francisco was launched in 2012 by Adam Vollmer and, to date, has been US-only. The deal with Pon will enable European distribution for the vintage-looking e-bike brand.

Vollmer will remain with the company.

“With its beautifully designed bicycles combined with high-end integrated electrical and connectivity solutions, [Faraday] stands out in the market,” said a Pon press statement.

“The combination of Faraday Bicycles’ innovative products and the advantages of scale represented by the international Pon organization increases both parties’ growth potential significantly."
