Action sports distributor picks up protective label after two year absence

Carrera helmets picked up by Ultra Sport Europe

Action Sports distributor UltraSport Europe has picked up the distribution rights to Carrera helmets following a two year absence of the protective gear label in the UK.

Neil Thomas, bike brand manager for Ultra Sport commented: “Carrera’s absence for the past 2 years surprised me as Carrera helmets offer good margins and excellent quality. They’re so well designed and we really feel that they have something significant to offer the British cycling market.”

Widely known for its folding helmet, which reduces the footprint by around a third, the brand also has a deep line of affordable helmets for the urban and performance cycling markets.

The focus going forward will be two pronged, says the distributor. First, with an increased urban offering, allowing it to integrate well with Ultra Sport’s Europe’s current offering, Bern. The foldable helmet is offered at a range of price points to suit most consumer budgets and also offers on-trend colour blocking to integrate into current urban cycling themes.

Secondly, Carrera offers an ‘Active Collection’, hitting key price points in the road and mountain bike sectors. The Razor X-Press helmet, offered in road and MTB variations is expected to be particularly popular as it offers high-end quality and styling at a budget friendly price.

“We’re excited to add Carrera to our stable of products and intend to follow a solid selective distribution policy allowing retailers to operate with solid territories enabling them to capture good market share at the same time as protecting their margins” continued Neil Thomas
