Cannondale has announced plans to restructure its North American commercial operations and shift its global headquarters to Woudenberg, Netherlands.
As part of this operational transition, the company’s long-standing facility in Wilton, Connecticut, will wind down operations by mid-2027.
To strengthen its North American business, Cannondale is establishing a new operational base on the West Coast, housing dedicated commercial, retailer, and rider support teams. Over the next six months, Cannondale said it will transition to a unified sales model across Pon.Bike portfolio brands, including Santa Cruz and Cervélo.
In line with these changes, and under the new structure, Cannondale said:
This builds on two years of closer commercial collaboration between the brands to offer retailers greater choice. For retailers carrying more than one brand, this means a single point of contact and simpler ordering and support services. The aim is to make it easier for retailers to work with Cannondale and access more of the Pon.Bike portfolio. Each brand will retain its own identity, models and relationship with riders.
On a global level, Cannondale says it is aligning its international structure by designating its facility in Woudenberg, Netherlands, previously its European headquarters, as its global headquarters. The brand’s research, development, and engineering functions will remain in Freiburg, Germany.
Company leadership says it has notified local employees in Wilton directly regarding the upcoming changes. Acknowledging the contribution of the Connecticut workforce over the past five decades, Cannondale said:
“For more than five decades, Connecticut has been instrumental in shaping Cannondale into one of cycling’s most influential brands. Cannondale is deeply grateful to the team members whose passion, creativity, and commitment built this incredible foundation.”
Commenting on Wilton staff, a representative from Cannondale said, “As part of these broader organisational changes, global functions currently based in Wilton will transition to join existing teams in Europe over a period extending into 2027. Woudenberg will serve as Cannondale’s global headquarters, bringing together global leadership, Brand & Marketing, Product Management, and other central functions.
