Looters break through doors to take hoard of bikes

Brixton and Enfield Halfords branches targeted in fresh riots

A fresh wave of riots running throughout London last night reportedly saw two Halfords branches fall victim to vandalism and theft.

According to various news sites, both the Brixton and Enfield outlets have been ransacked, with front doors smashed through by opportunists making the most of the anarchy that has spread through London and seemingly North along the A10 since the first wave of violence on Saturday.

BBC London’s Paraic O’Brien, who was in Brixton last night, told the BBC: "I’m standing outside Halfords on the other side of the road and they’ve just smashed through the doors of Halfords. They’re taking bikes out the front entrance."

The area around Enfield’s branch is now cordoned off with the majority of buildings on the retail park damaged and unable to open for business.

Enfield, Ponders End, Edmonton, Brixton, Tottenham, Waltham Forrest, Islington and Oxford Circus are all reported to have been victim to looting.
