Mayoral candidate and movie star both voice similar concerns over Islington roads

Boris Johnson asks for ‘ road features people actually want’

In an interview with the Islington Gazette, London mayoral candidate, Boris Johnson and movie star Sean Pertwee have both voiced discontent at road features, such as speed humps, around the Islington area which are an inconvenience to cyclists and damage vehicles.

When questioned over the London borough, Mr Johnson said: "There are too many speed humps."

He added: "Local residents and councillors are bullied into agreeing to Transport for London proposals, including road bumps. We (conservatives) would not bully in this way – we would never forget it is taxpayers’ money we are spending and it should only be used with their consent."
