Serco wins award for its work on Barclays Cycle Hire in the capital

Boris Bikes operator praised for excellence

The National Outsourcing Association has awarded Serco – operator of London’s Barclays Cycle Hire – with an ‘Innovation in Outsourcing’ prize.

The NOA said the cycle hire scheme was a ground-breaking initiative that has transformed transport in London, used on average by around 25,000 customers every day.

Serco was recently awarded a new contract for the expansion of Barclays Cycle Hire in the West, and to a greater extent, in the East of London.

Serco Transport MD Jeroen Weimar said: “The award for Innovation in Outsourcing demonstrates Serco’s dedication to improving service and efficiency and is a well deserved recognition of the hard work of the collective team at Serco, to be the best in our field of work and, our partnership with Transport for London.”
