Cycling loses two yet-to-be-announced track disciplines as Olympic sports, but gains BMX.

BMX to be at Beijing Olympics in 2008

The IOC’s Executive Board, meeting in Prague, decided on 29th June, to include BMX in the XXIX Olympics in Beijing, which will be held from 8th to 24th August 2008.

One Elite Men (19 Years and older) and one Elite Women (19 Years and older) event will be included in the Olympic programme.

The UCI BMX World Ranking will determine the nation’s ranking and the number of athletes for each country, although the total number of BMX athletes has not yet been decided.
