Bikmo partners with Trek across UK and German markets

Bikmo has become the Trek-owned retail stores’ official insurance provider throughout the UK, Germany, and Austrian markets.

The partnership builds on Bikmo’s mission to protect the world’s riders through the offer of 14 days free insurance on new Trek bikes across all UK, German and Austrian Trek-owned stores. Riders will also be able to get a discounted policy, covering them, their Trek bike and accessories worldwide.

The announcement also highlights that Trek and Bikmo share a passion for bikes and a commitment to sustainability.

Both companies are supporters of Trash Free Trails and World Bicycle Relief, and Trek’s reduction in plastic and extended use of recycled plastics is in harmony with Bikmo’s claims salvage process which seeks to safely resell, donate or repurpose parts from damaged bikes.

In sharing the partnership news David George, CEO at Bikmo said: “Our partnership with Trek is a big step forward in our mission and I’m excited that Bikmo can keep Trek riders protected, whether that’s taking to the road on their Madone or exploring the mountains on their Powerfly.

“We look forward to delivering our 14 days free offering in Trek-owned retail stores, and to realise the huge
potential this partnership holds.”

Salvatore DiMaso, retail director of Trek Europe comments: “We have chosen to work with Bikmo as their mission aligns with ours. We at Trek want to change the world by getting more people on bikes, we must look after the planet and our future, and we can all do this by cycling more and keeping riders riding!

“Bikmo’s customer-centric caring approach made this decision an easy one, and we look forward to working and growing with the team over the coming months and years.”

Bikmo in focus

2024 has seen the cycling insurer actively developing partnerships which benefit businesses (B2B) and end users (B2C).

Most recently the brand announced a strategic partnership with Bikebook. Through this collaboration, both companies aim to elevate the cycling experience by offering service and protection to their combined customer base with the integration of insurance within Bikebook’s Workshop management system.

In March of this year, the insurer shared that it had partnered with Silverfish, the UK distributor of Yeti and Norco. The partnership, which launched at COREbike, means that all riders buying Yeti and Norco bikes will be able to insure their new bikes for free for 14 days.
