Bike Republic takes on Base Urban Bikes

Base Urban Bikes are to be exclusively distributed by Bike Republic.

The first production bikes to come out of Australia’s Flying Machine Studio, the Base Urban range features RD, Alfine and FX fixed models, pitched as a new breed of classic bikes updated and enhanced with the latest tech.

The frames use a split ‘double-top’ tube and curved down tube, and are hand-built in lightweight and solid ‘airplane tubing’ Cromolly steel. Also featuring hardwearing liquid high gloss pain finishes, the range use Gates Carbon Belt drive systems.

The FX range offers fixed wheel transmission, with the FX1.0 sporting drop bars and a white finish, while the FX2.0 offers fixic chic with a solid riser bar, Oruy mountain grips and black paint finish.

The RD range features the Alfine hub gear system, again one with a drop bar and one with a riser. The drop barred RD1.0 is fitted with the Sussex Versa VRS integrated brake shifters while the RD2.0 offers a thumb trigger shift on a riser bar and Oury grips. Both are finished in black.

Base Urban bikes are available now from Bike Republic. Contact the firm on 0208 400 1248 or email sales@bikerepublic.com to find out more.
