British Cycling President Brian Cookson has put out an appeal for prospective Board Members of the organisation to come forward. British Cycling has five vacancies to fill at the National Council meeting in November.
Cookson said: "For a number of reasons, there are an exceptionally high number of vacancies on the Board of British Cycling. This is a vitally important time for British Cycling and we need people with commitment, experience, and ability, to come forward for election.
"These are honorary positions, but all expenses are paid. It is not necessary
to commit massive amounts of time, as we do now have a professional management team running British Cycling on a day to day basis. What we need is people with a sound background of achievement in business or in the public sector or indeed in the sport itself, people who understand our sport and want to see it grow and develop.
"If you feel that you can help British Cycling build on the successful reconstruction of the last few years, then please put your name forward. Meetings are taking place at present, and nominations from positive, ommitted individuals are vital to keep the impetus moving."
