ATG Training has made a number tweaks and changes to the Cytech Technical qualification, including upping the number of days for some training courses.
The total number of training days at Cytech Technical level two to seven will rise to ten days, giving delegates more time to get their hands dirty.
Old and new technologies have also been added, including internal hub gears, folding city brakes, disk brakes, BMX bits and pieces and also more time on wheel building with the DT Swiss factory programme.
The extra days are set to give more depth to training and all for the same price. The ATG also helps retailer to obtain Government subsidies for mechanics, reducing the cost of the course and plugging Treasury money back into the trade.
The firm told BikeBiz: “It seems like we are experiencing a really positive start to 2010 where cycling is reaching new levels of popularity and retailers are gearing up to take advantage of this. We’re also working with the ACT and their Retail Directory to ensure that mechanics with qualifications get the recognition they deserve.”
“We’re seeing a big pick up in demand for level one courses, typically lasting two days of hands on training, giving staff a good overall level of knowledge and the ability to muck in during busy times with the assurance of having had professional guidance.”
