Two-time Olympic 1500m runner Andy Baddeley has joined PR and digital agency Fusion Media as head of endurance sport.
Fusion Media has doubled in size in the last 12 months and is expanding its offering into running, endurance and outdoor markets in the UK and Europe.
Founded in 2008, the agency specialises in the cycling and running markets. Its portfolio of clients includes brands like Strava, Red Bull, Shimano, Telegraph Events, Ribble, Royal Dutch Gazelle, Madison and CSM Active.
As well as his prolific running background, Baddeley has a history in sports marketing. In addition to a career in professional sport, he also has a double first and a Master of Engineering from Cambridge University.
Baddeley said: “I’m really excited to be joining the team at Fusion Media. After retiring from competitive athletics, I wanted to be part of a team of passionate and like-minded people, who are as driven for success as I am. I found that at Fusion, and the opportunity to work on exciting projects for a diverse range of clients is hugely appealing.
“I want to bring the same mindset to work as I did to my athletic career – always pushing to be better and to deliver under pressure. My unique knowledge of running and the sporting world complements the existing team, putting us in a great place at the centre of the endurance landscape.”
Fusion Media founder and director Adam Tranter added: “We’re delighted to welcome Andy to the growing Fusion Media team. His experience in the world of professional sport, as well as his deep understanding of the mainstream appeal of running and other endurance sports is invaluable to us as we continue to grow in these areas.”
